Benjamin Thornton (1855-1929) and Bertha Turner

Benjamin Thornton (1855-1929), a son of Thomas Thornton, married Bertha Turner (1862-1939), the sister of Franklin Thornton’s wife, Eva.   They farmed in the Woodstock area of Ontario.   For a few years sister-in-law Eva lived with them along with her daughter Irma.  I think Eva was the wife of Franklin Thornton who died around 1890.  Irma remained in contact with Helen Thornton for many years.  Benjamin’s brothers Marshall and Franklin also lived in the Woodstock area.   For a photo of Benjamin’s grave stone click here.  Buried in Hillview Cemetery, Woodstock. Ontario.

The only child I am aware of is Flossy Thornton b. 1887.
