Thomas Thornton (1823-1916), one of 12 children of John Thornton and Frances Bowler, married Susanna Powers (1824-1881). Susanna Powers was the daughter of Nathaniel Powers (1787-1862) who was born in New Hampshire and son of a revolutionary, and Rebecca LaRue (1792-1856), born in Leeds County, Ontario and daughter of a Loyalist.
Now a photo of Thomas Thornton of Orono, Ontario (thanks to Lisa Kerr for finding this in the obituary for Thomas) and the grave stone for Thomas and his wife Susanna Powers (also thanks to Lisa). Note: the grave stone also mentions their daughter Rebecca Thornton (named after Susanna’s mother Rebecca LaRue), who I believe never married.
