James Powers (1818-1903), born in NY, was one of the children of Nathaniel Hart Powers and Rebecca LaRue. James returned to Canada with his parents and latter married Lucinda Manley Powers (1829-1882), born in Canada East and the daughter of Manley Powers (the son of Abner Powers). Lucinda was the grand daughter of Nathaniel Hart Powers’ uncle Abner.
James and his family moved to Canada Corner, Illinois in 1849. In 1900 he was living with his daughter, Mrs. Jerome Ellis.

I believe this is a photo of James Powers with his son Wesley J. Powers and his wife Jenny Marsden and their new baby. If the baby is Mabelle, the photo would be from about 1870.
Grave stone of James Powers and family located in North Cemetery, At. Charles, Illinois. I am unable to read the first name but it appears to be Wesley Powers . This is followed by Jennie (1849-1906) who I believe is the wife of Wesley J. Powers (a son of James) but the birth date must be 1849. Then a baby of Jennie, died 1889. Then James Powers (1818-1908) and his wife Lucinda (1829-1882).
